Admission requirements
Completed 60 ECTS (one-year higher education)
The didactics of outdoor life, the philosophy of outdoor life and the link between outdoor life and environmental issues are the basic elements of the course. Another aim of the course is to make students realize how humans affect nature and how nature affects culture in terms of past and present development in society.
Successful completion of the course qualifies for 30 ECTS credits.
Teaching
Outdoor activities are the starting point for all methods in use throughout the course. Through excursions, students will experience the typical landscape of western Norway as experiential learning environments. The students will do this by exploring, staying, living, and traveling the mountains, lakes, fjords, and glaciers.
This course requires some specific clothes and equipment.
Autumn 2024
The academic semester is from 5th of August until 1st of December.
Practice
You will have practice in an outdoor school and maybe also some days in kindergarten, primary or secondary school or in other institutions where outdoor activities are utilized.
