Field of work
I am the Pro-Rector for Regional Development at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL), a fixed-term position that applies from 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2025. In the period from 1 June to 31 December 2023, I will also had the responsibility that lies with the Pro-Rector for research position at HVL.
I graduated from the University of Sogn og Fjordane (undergraduate social studies, practical pedagogical education, English and sports, as well as intermediate sports) and the Norwegian College of Sports, Oslo (bachelor, master and PhD).
I have been employed at HVL/Sogn og Fjordane University College since 2001.
In 2017-2021 I worked as a professor in Sports Science at HVL. I have published 76 peer-reviewed articles in international journals and have been on sabbaticals on two occasions: University College Dublin, Ireland and the University of Texas, Austin, USA.
In 2018-2021 I was the founder and leader of the Center for physical active learning (SEFAL). In the same period, I was the leader of ACTivate, an Erasmus+ collaborative project between Norway, Denmark, England, the Netherlands, Finland, and Portugal.
