HVL Robotics has a state-of-the art research lab with a wide range of commercial collaborative robot arms and mobile robots, and also custom-made robots arm developed for specific projects.

We also have a collaboration with Verftet AS in Førde, which is set up to have industry-relevant equipment and infrastructure available for industry collaborative projects. Please get in touch if you are curious on working together with us on any of our available robots.

Main robots and infrastructure in the lab

  • Robot arms: Universal Robot 5, Universal Robot 5e-series, KUKA LBR 14 iiwa, Franka Research 3, custom GH360 soft robot arm.

  • Mobile robots: Clearpath Husky, Festo Robotino, Turtlebot Waffle Pi, Turtlebot3 Burger, custom Anthony crawler, custom Dagobert duck robot, Petoi Bittles.

  • VR/AR/MR: Meta Quest 2, Microsoft HoloLens2.

  • Sensors: Emlid Reach RS2, Intel RealSense depth cameras, Microsoft Kinect 2.0 and Azure, 3D point-cloud Zivid camera (Verftet), Xsens MTw Awinda IMU system, force-torque sensors. 

  • Prototyping: 3D-printers Ender-3 pro and Ultimaker S5, access to a laser cutter EpilogLaser (Verftet)
