Applied Marine Microbiology

The research group in Applied Marine Microbiology study diverse microorganisms in the ocean, such as viruses, bacteria and algae.

We work closely with local industry partners, e.g. within shipping (ballast water), ocean farming, and water treatment technologies. We have access to laboratory facilities, well equipped for microbiology and biotechnology analysis.

Members of the research team are mainly from Institute of Safety, Chemistry and Biomedical laboratory sciences at Faculty of Engineering and Science. Our general knowledge is within microbiology, biotechnology, gene-technology, proteomics and environmental science.

We can also offer supervision of students from bachelor to PhD-level.
