Admissions
When you are granted admission to a programme of study, you will be admitted for the standard duration of the programme. For example, the standard duration of a full-time bachelor’s degree is three years.
If, for various reasons, you need more time to complete your studies, you can adjust your individual education plan and spend more time on your programme of study, in accordance with an agreement and within the framework set out in the regulations relating to studies and examinations at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences.
Your admission to a programme of study terminates automatically when the time period for the allotted/contracted admission to study expires or when you have completed your studies. Note that if you do not follow the standard progression for your programme of study, you must take into account whichever curriculum has been set for the course each time, as well as the examination system in use.
Get in touch with your student adviser or career guidance counsellor to adjust your individual education plan. You can find the contact information for the student counselling services on your campus here.
Admission to the post-programme course registration scheme
When you have completed your programme of study, you have the right to additional studies up to and including the two semesters following your graduation.
During this period, you can improve your grades for individual exams on courses where this is possible. If your grades do improve, this will be documented by way of your transcript, not a new certificate.
You must apply for admission to the post-programme course registration scheme; the deadline for this is 1 September for the autumn semester and 1 February for the spring semester. You must send your application by email to your department:
