Department of Safety, Chemistry and Biomedical laboratory sciences has about 300 students and 60 employees.
Our departement is located in Bergen and Haugesund.
With three bachelor's programs and one master's program, we are a department that spans from health sciences to classical engineering disciplines. The education in biomedical engineering and chemical engineering is located in Bergen, while fire engineering education is located in Haugesund.
The study programs incorporate a significant amount of practical skills training, which takes place in bright and modern laboratories, in collaboration with external businesses in the region. The laboratories are used for both education and research.
Research activities have a broad scope and occur in close collaboration with businesses in the region and with other higher education institutions nationally and internationally.
